Talking to reporters, Jatavath promised to make Coimbatore a model city. “We will put all efforts to address public grievances. I request people to support and co-operate with the corporation officials. The administration is committed to provide the basic amenities to all. Public places including railway stations and bus stands will always be kept clean and maintained as best as possible.”
“As I have worked with the ministry of urban development, I have got some exposure. But, each city is unique and this is a new experience. My priority is to understand the city as early as possible. People’s priority will be my priority,”the official said.
He is aware that Coimbatore, being selected as one of the smart cities, is gearing up to implement projects worth crores of rupees, Jatavath said.
