COIMBATORE: Sravan Kumar Jatavath, who took charge as the commissioner of the Coimbatore Corporation on Tuesday, said he would work to make the city the best place to live in the country and make it a model city.

“We will put all our efforts to address public grievances as early as possible. The public should support and cooperate with corporation officials to resolve issues,” the commissioner said while speaking to reporters.

Jatavath, who was the sub-collector in Tirupur district, is the 24th commissioner of the city corporation. He replaces K Vijayakarthikeyan.

Jatavath, an engineering graduate from IIT-Bombay, had also worked as an assistant collector in Trichy and an assistant secretary to the cabinet minister of information and broadcasting.
