C.P. Rajasekharan, writer, broadcaster and former director of Akashavani and Doordarshan, died at a private hospital due to cardiac ailment here on Sunday. He was 71.
He had worked in various stations of Doordarshan and Akashavani.
Author of around 45 books, he was the recipient of many awards, including by the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. He won the Sahitya Akademi award for the Best Malayalam play for Moonnu Vayassanmar in 1984.
Rajasekharan, who became radio announcer in 1976, received Best Public Service Broadcaster Award twice.
His body will be cremated at his residence at Ramavarmapuram on Monday.
