CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, whose Dharma Yudhham led to the formation of the Justice (retd) A Arumughaswamy commission to probe former chief minister J Jayalalithaa's death, will not appear before it on Tuesday. Panneerselvam was due to appear before the commission at 10am on Tuesday.
OPS was given the summons last week. This was the third time that he was issued a summons to appear before the commission. On the first two occasions, the commission adjourned hearing citing different reasons.
OPS had given statements in the media a few days ago that he had no issues in appearing before the commission. However, on Monday evening, his advocate submitted a letter before the commission stating that he had some pressing commitments on Tuesday because of which he could not appear, a source in the commission said.
