A wedding business that started as an idea on a hen do has now moved into new large premises as trade keeps growing.

Anna Roberts and Sarah Hodson, from Holywell, came up with the idea for a celebration balloon business during Sarah’s “girly hen do”.

This saw them set up Angelic Events seven years ago - expecting it to be a part time hobby business alongside their regular jobs as a project planner (Anna) and trainee electrician(Sarah).

But it proved such a success they soon needed a shop premises - which they found in Saltney as they couldn’t get anything suitable in their home town of Holywell.

The business grew from simply balloons to a range of celebration decor and accessories and now they are taking their next step.

This has seem the pair - who later quit their day jobs - open new premises next to Glasdir cafe and fishing lakes near Holywell.

Anna, 35, said: “We were on Sarah’s girly hen do when we came up with the idea to do balloons. We thought it would just be a part time thing but it really took off and we had to quit our jobs.

“Saltney has been amazing for us but the way the high street has gone we decided to locate out of town and in turn offer all our services online or over the phone and offer a free local delivery service.

"We weren’t getting much walk in business so we now do this by appointment and at the new site we have our brand new wedding show room. We are very excited to see how this next chapter of Angelic Events turns out."

She added: “We never thought when we came up with the the idea that seven years later we would still be doing this.

"Setting up the business has been a lot of hard work but it has been worth it.”
