Would You Spend Nearly $3K On This Aftermarket Tesla Model 3 Front Bumper?

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a complete body kit for your Tesla Model 3, you can nevertheless achieve a significant styling upgrade just by changing the front bumper.

Unplugged Performance offers one for $1,995, and despite the pretentious name (Ascension Front Fascia System), it’s pretty simple. It’s a complete bolt-on replacement solution designed to replace the Model 3’s front fascia with a performance-inspired redesign.

For the price, buyers get a front bumper cover with under panel continuity complete with all related hardware needed for installation. It can be installed using basic tools by any professional body shop and the result is a seamless factory-style bumper that gives Tesla’s entry-level EV a new look.

According to Unplugged Performance, the bumper design is made “with a vision of what the Model 3 can become while delivering a design that can be installed in the present.” Besides adopting a design that resonates with the car’s styling, the new bumper also ensures functionality, as it retains ducting for cooling systems, airflow management, as well as the Autopilot system, lighting and towing.

The Ascension Front Fascia System is made of impact resistant polymer and has a front lip edge that sits 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) lower than the factory bumper. The aftermarket part is also longer, extending the front edge of the car by approximately 2.75 inches (70 mm).

However, despite costing almost two grand, it comes unpainted, so you should set aside at least $800 for paint and installation, bringing the total perilously close to three thousand bucks.
