The symposium will be held in conjunction with the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s annual meeting

Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE), a leader in continuing education for retail, health-system, managed care and specialty pharmacists, will conduct a live satellite symposium titled Managing Treatment Gaps with PCSK9 Inhibitors in conjunction with the 2019 Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting. The symposium will take place Wednesday, March 27, from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. PST in Room 15AB, Mezzanine Level, at the San Diego Convention Center in California.

This live satellite symposium will feature three presenters: Ty J. Gluckman, M.D., FACC, FAHA,medical director, Center for Cardiovascular Analytics, Research, and Data Science (CARDS), Providence Heart and Vascular Institute, as the moderator; Seth S. Martin, M.D., M.H.S., FACC, FAHA, FASPC, associate professor of medicine, division of cardiology, John Hopkins Medicine; Joseph J. Saseen, Pharm.D., FCCP, FASHP, BCPS, BCACP,professor and vice chair, department of clinical pharmacy,University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Sheila L. Stadler, Pharm.D., BCPS-AQ Cardiology, CLS, clinical assistant professor,University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; and clinical pharmacy specialist, Clinical Pharmacy Cardiac Risk Service (CPCRS), Kaiser Permanente of Colorado.

Designed for pharmacists and managed care professionals, this interactive, live satellite symposium will feature a moderator, a physician, a pharmacist and a managed care expert, all of whom offer unique perspectives on how PCSK9 inhibitors fit into the current treatment landscape of hypercholesterolemia. Attendees who participate in this activity will be able to examine recent data on cardiovascular benefit and hospitalization for PCSK9 inhibitors, analyze cost-versus-benefit data for PCSK9 inhibitors when managing a population and investigate the patient population that will most benefit from these drugs. This activity is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education for 1.5 contact hours and is supported by an educational grant from Amgen.
