Sedition charges on Ballia boy for Pulwama post
tnn | Feb 19, 2019, 05:00 ISTVaranasi: A class XII student of Ballia district has been charged withg sedition for posting objectionable remarks regarding Pulwama terror attack on social media.
The youth, Vishwajeet Pandey, alias Santi Pandey of Bankata village in Pakari area of Ballia district, posted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and derogatory remarks on India on his social media wall.
The police lodged an FIR against the youth and launched a manhunt to nab him. Pandey has been booked under sections 124A (sedition) and 153B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration) of IPC.
Ballia SP Devendra Nath Dubey said that police have traced the boy’s location and he would be arrested soon.
Earlier, two persons had been arrested in Mau and Ballia for their objectionable posts regarding Pulwama terror attack.
