NEW BEDFORD — Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts announces that Bristol County Savings Bank will again act as the Title Sponsor for the 6th Annual JA Titan Business Challenge. Hosted in partnership with UMass Dartmouth, the Titan Business Challenge is a business strategy competition in which over 200 local high school students from schools across the region have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on and dynamic learning experience, hear from some of the region’s top business leaders, and compete for scholarship awards that can help make a higher education possible. The event will take place at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, March 12.

During the Titan Business Challenge, local high school students compete for scholarships while gaining essential knowledge about the world of business, at no cost to the students or their high schools. In addition to developing budgets and interpreting financial reports, students can expect to increase their knowledge of pricing, production, capital investments, R&D, marketing and charitable giving. Junior Achievement is looking for additional corporate sponsors and volunteers for this year’s event. For more information, please contact Nicole Nault, Junior Achievement’s Events and Development Manager at nicole.nault@ja.org.

The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be Scott Dubois, Co-Founder of Pidalia, a digital consultancy of senior-level strategists, creatives, and technologists that wrestle with their clients’ messy business problems. Scott is also a Partner at Gingham Ventures, an early stage investment firm that also advises businesses on strategy and execution.

The event’s top teams will win scholarships to the colleges or universities that they choose to attend.
