Share market update: FMCG shares fall; Dabur dips over 2%

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 44.10 points at 10,680.30 while the BSE Sensex was down 156.94 points at 35,652.01

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading in the negative zone in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dabur India (down 2.57 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (down 2.24 per cent) , Tata Global Beverages (down 1.69 per cent) , and Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (down 1.46 per cent) were trading with losses.

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (down 1.45 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (down 1.36 per cent) , Marico (down 1.34 per cent) and ITC (down 1.07 per cent) too were trading in the red.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.96 per cent down at 29,027.75 around 01:03 pm.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, ITC, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, ONGC, NTPC, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, RIL, Adani Ports SEZ, Axis Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
