The Ghana Tourism Authority is prepared to license all tourist sites

Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, explained that the move would enhance the standards of facilities and improve clients’ experience.

 

In a speech, he highlighted this read on his behalf at the 2018 Volta Regional Tourism Awards, arranged under the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage”, at the Volta Serene Hotel in Ho.

 

The Chief Executive of the Authority explained that tourism fund of the government aided by the World Bank, would be constantly invested in improving the quality of the sites and meet international standards.

 

Mr Agyemang emphasized that visa acquisition was one of the areas where the authority was working hard to improve and had engaged the Immigration Service on cutting visa on arrival costs.

 

He further said that the Tourism Ministry was all set to introduce two hotel training institutes that would serve for its service enhancement training component to realize the full economic possibilities of a sector whose value chain could end the employment problem of the country.

 

Mr Agyemang urged for the support from all the stakeholders and asked players in the sector to attempt for excellence and endorse Ghanaian culture with the help of local products and cuisine.

 

Mr Alexander Kwame Nketia, Volta Regional Manager, GTA explained the region as a multicultural society abound with natural scenery that tourists found beautiful, and underscored the need to make good use of the potential.
