College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP), one of the a top-notch colleges in India, has a legacy of over 160 years. The college is not only a pioneer of excellence in academics but it also empowers innovation and entrepreneurship by providing a suitable vibrant ecosystem within its campus, through BHAU’s Entrepreneurship Cell.

Since its foundation, BHAU’s E-Cell has tried to foster entrepreneurship spirit amongst students and showed them the importance of innovation. However, taking a step ahead, this year they are organising Pune Startup Fest’19 a ‘Startup Expo’ in association with Tricentis , which will be held on February 23 and 24.

The theme is Manifesting Dreams, and the fest will be held under the patronage of Startup India and Maharashtra State Innovation Society, in association with Pune Municipal Corporation.

The startup expo will be composed of seven different zones — Tech, Social, Agricultural, Lifestyle, Student Startup, Startup Internship and the Investor Zone. The Student Startup Internship is a great opportunity for all students who wish to be a part of an enriching journey to learn about the functioning of startups and challenges faced in due course. The Investor Zone is a platform for all startups, no matter how big or small they are, they will get an opportunity to pitch their idea in front of investors in order to get funded.

This rare opportunity should not be missed by anyone who aspires to establish a successful business, for ‘nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity’, rightly said by American author, Jackson Brown Jr.

THE IDEA BEHIND BHAU INSTITUTE
BHAU Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership was set up by Narendra Kale, an alumnus of COEP (1974), and Sanjay Inamdar, a successful entrepreneur, to promote incubation of enterprises from amongst COEP students.

BHAU means elder brother. An elder brother is a unique person for the young siblings in Indian culture. You enjoy a special relationship with him. He is the one you lean on for guidance and support in all your adventures. He allows you to fall and helps you to pick up yourself and run again. He provides just enough guidance to get you going and gradually launches you into the real world. This is the spirit for BHAU Institute — it will encourage students not only to find their own calling but go after it unleashing their full potential. The initiative helps students to be entrepreneurs in their own right, finding their own place under the sun.
