Kanpur: Spicejet will commence its morning flight from Kanpur to New Delhi from May 1 for which the operator has announced to induct 189 seater plane. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) gave its approval to the proposal to the Spicejet recently.
People will also be able to visit Dehradun and Nainital as Kanpur will soon be connected with Pant Nagar, said director, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi memorial airport Chakeri Jameel Khaliq. He said the flight will connect Uttarakhand with Kanpur. Its commencement dates would be finalised within a week, he said.
“According to the proposed schedule for a morning flight from Kanpur to New Delhi, the flight will take off from New Delhi at 8 am and land at Chakeri airport at 9.05 am. And, after a rest of 25 minutes, it will go for the return journey and land at IG Airport at 10.35 am”, Khaliq said.
Initially there were several technical hurdles for the morning flight but the same have now been removed. Moreover, in the afternoon flight for New Delhi, the passengers load was almost 90% and sometimes it is even 100%, Khaliq said further. The directoror-general, civil aviation, had sanctioned Kanpur-Bengaluru flight for all seven days of week. The Bengaluru flight would commence from March 1, he added.
Meanwhile, on Monday the ticket for Kanpur to Mumbai flight was sold at Rs 19,192. “The inflated cost of ticket is due to three days flight in a week which will continue till March 31 as the runway in Mumbai airport is being repaired. The flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday have been cancelled,” he said. The refreshment facility would be restored at the airport soon, he added.
