Three escape from blaze in car

Representative imagePUNE: A speeding car was gutted on Sunday night at Pashan on the Katraj–Dehu Road bypass after a fire broke out in its engine. No one was injured, the police said.
The fire brigade, which arrived at the spot, extinguished the flames within 20 minutes. Firemen who were present told TOI that the car was heading towards Kolhapur from Wakad when smoke and then flames started coming out of the engine section.
The car driver halted the vehicle on the side of the road and all three passengers alighted from it. The fire then engulfed the car within minutes. A short circuit in the car’s engine caused the blaze, the fire brigade officials said.
