Petition wants SC to set up judicial commission to investigate any lapses at the local level

Advocate Vineet Dhanda on Monday filed a PIL plea in the Supreme Court for an independent probe led by a retired apex court judge into the Pulwama attack.

The petition wants the apex court to set up a judicial commission to investigate any lapses at the local level. It wants the Supreme Court-ordered judicial commission to investigate the “role played by Indian nationals in helping the terrorists from Pakistan in executing the Uri and Pulwama attacks.” It also sought direction to the Centre to submit a “detailed report regarding the action taken against the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders.”

The plea also wants a direction to freeze the accounts belonging to the Hurriyat and its leaders and submit an action taken report before the apex court.

It sought an immediate order to the government to permanently withdraw security cover given to Hurriyat leaders.

“Issue an appropriate writ order or direction directing the Union of India and respondents to ban the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other anti-national parties from contesting the Lok Sabha election and other State polls,” the petition said.

It said any derogatory or “anti-India” remarks published online should be made a punishable offence. It has sought a ban of all cultural ties with Pakistan.
