MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has made special arrangements to ensure that those appearing for SSC and HSC examinations in Mumbai do not face hassles while travelling in red buses to the examination centre.
"During the exams, we will ensure that students do not face any problem and they are not delayed for the exam," said BEST spokesperson BA Zodage, adding that students will be given priority to board buses from the front door.
He further stated: "For BMC students, we have made arrangements that even if they do not have a bus pass, they will still get concessions."
For the private and civic schools where students hold the regular bus pass, the pass will be valid for travel from the student's residence to the examination centre. So, they will not have to purchase any fresh ticket to go to the centre for exams daily.
These facilities will be available for students appearing for HSC exams which begin from February 21 and SSC exams which commences from March 1.
Bus inspectors and staff will be deployed at crowded bus stops to ensure children can board buses on time. The BEST will also deploy additional buses if requests are made from schools/colleges, he added.
