Delhi man robbed of Rs20K, mobile in city
TNN | Feb 18, 2019, 07:55 ISTLudhiana: A Delhi resident has been robbed by an auto gang in Focal Point on Saturday night. The gang threatened him with a sharp-edged weapon and escaped with Rs20,600 in cash, three debit cards, a mobile, and other documents. Focal Point police registered a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC on Saturday against three unidentified accused.
In his complaint, Ashok Kumar (36) of Mohalla Gandhi Nagar, Delhi, said he had come to the city to visit his relative Bhola Prasad of Mundiya Kalan. He hired an auto from Samrala Chowk for Ram Nagar, in which two persons, besides the auto driver, were already present. When the auto reached near Jamalpur traffic lights, the auto driver took it towards Metro road, where one of the accused brandished a knife and put it on his neck, threatening to kill him. He robbed him off his mobile, Rs20,600 in cash, three debit cards, and other documents.
He further added that the accused dropped him on the road and escaped from there. Further, he borrowed the mobile of a commuter and sounded the police. Investigating officer ASI Pyara Singh said police were checking CCTVs installed in the area to trace the accused.
