Telugus in London join protest of Indians against terror attack in Kashmir

HYDERABAD: A large number of Telugus participated in a protest rally against Pakistan in London on Saturday. The protest was organised by the Indian community in front of the Pakistan High Commission, Belgravia.


Anil Kurmalacham from Telangana who is working in London, along with several people from the state living there carried placards condemning the terror attack on CRPF personnel in Kashmir on February 14. Shouting ‘Pakistan down down’, the participants urged the international community to stand against the terrorism being perpetrated by Pakistan. “The roots of terrorism are in Pakistan through the branches are in different countries. The roots have to be pulled out,” an Indian said as they marched in the protest rally. Anil Kurmachalam of the TRS NRI cell in London said the protest was peaceful.


With placards reading “Remembering our heroes” and “Vande Mataram” the protestors also waving the Indian tricolor sang the national anthem ending with shouts of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”. The protestors shouted “Vande Mataram” during the rally while also raising “Pakistan terrorists” slogans. In a show of solidarity with the families of CRPF martyrs, they showed up their lighted mobile phones.


Members of the TRS NRI cell in London also wore “KCR” sweatshirts on the occasion of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s birthday. KCR had asked his party men to call off the birthday celebrations they had planned in view of the terrorist attack in Kashmir in which 44 CRPF personnel were killed.
