Indore: With one more death of a swine flu patient, the death toll in the city rose to 13, on Sunday. The rising number of deaths from H1N1 virus attack in the city, even after increase in temperature for last few days, has become a major concern for citizens as well as the administration. Meanwhile, four more patients have been found positive of the disease on Sunday.
Health department officials claimed that awareness is the only way to prevent the disease as people are reaching the hospital in critical condition but a little early can save life.
Nodal officer of Integrated Diseases Surveillance Programme, Dr Amit Malakar said “The deceased was a 24-year-old male patient from Dhar succumbed to the disease during treatment in Choithram Hospital on Sunday. He was admitted to the hospital about February 5 and his conditions were critical since then.
“We are providing every possible medicinal support to swine flu patients and the hospitals treating them, but patients reaching the hospital in critical conditions,” he said, adding “Unlike the recent past, no suspected sample of H1N1 was sent for laboratory for confirmation on Sunday.”
