SUV’s windshield broken, Rs 1 lakh stolen

NOIDA: The windshield of an SUV, owned by a businessman, was broken and Rs 1 lakh in cash and other important documents stolen in Sector 64 on Saturday night.
Sources said the theft was the third of its kind in three consecutive days, the other two being in sectors 24 and 49.
Delhi resident Sajal Khanna, a supplier of raw materials to a garment company in Sector 64 area, said: “I had parked my vehicle outside the company gate on Saturday evening and returned after an hour, only to find that the glass window was broken and Rs 1 lakh kept inside missing. Important documents such as my Aadhaar card and chequebook were also missing,” the victim wrote in his complaint. Akhilesh Tripathi, the SHO of Phase 3 police station, said an FIR had been registered against unknown persons under Section 379 (theft) of the IPC. SP (city) Sudha Singh said, “We are working in the right direction. Action will be taken soon.”
