The BJP MP from Unnao, Sakshi Maharaj, has been criticised on social media for laughing and waiving from the truck carrying the mortal remains of martyr CRPF jawan Ajit Kumar.

The mortal remains of the CRPF jawan were received by the bereaved family in Unnao early morning on Saturday (Febraury 16).

Sakshi Maharaj was seen greeting the crowd with smiles which had come out in large numbers to offer their last respects to the slain jawan.

Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi took to Twitter to criticise the BJP MP's alleged insensitive behaviour.

Many others also hit out at the BJP MP sharing the videos and pictures of Sakshi Maharaj's alleged insensitive behavior during the funeral procession of the jawan.

A user wrote, "BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj laughing while standing on truck, carrying the body of Pulwama martyr. Shame on you."

Another user wrote, "Seems BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj is celebrating".

A user also tweeted, "Disgusting how #BJP MP sakshi maharaj is playing politics.
Shame on #BJP. They got outrage of what Siddhu said but what Sakshi Maharaj did is thousand times worse."

"How about This one? Laughing, posing while riding atop truck carrying coffin of Pulwama martyr Ajit Kumar Azad, turning his final journey into his own road show? He is rape, murder and extortion etc accused former Tihar Jail intern Sakshi Maharaj, now BJP MP," a user tweeted.

A user also said, "Pathetic way to get attention. The people who voted for Sakshi Maharaj should make him resign."
