In rollicking form during the recent One-Day International and Twenty20 series tour of New Zealand, Smriti Mandhana will be keen to demonstrate her captaincy talent when she leads Board President’s XI in the only limited-over warm-up game against England at the Wankhede Stadium here on Monday.

India and England will play three ICC Women’s Championship matches at the same venue on February 22, 25 and 28.

The head coach of the national team, W. V. Raman, will also get a chance to assess the quality of the home side that is filled with fringe players.

Apart from Smriti, two known faces in the team are Devika Vaidya (left-hand bat and leg-spinner) and Veda Krishnamurthy, who was dropped for the tour of New Zealand.

The England team has been bolstered by the return of Katherine Brunt and Sarah Taylor, both of whom missed the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies last year.

The teams: Board President’s XI: Smriti Mandhana (Capt.), Veda Krishnamurthy, Devika Vaidya, Sabbhineni Meghana, Bharati Fulmali, Komal Zanzad, Ravi Kalpana, Priya Punia, Harleen Deol, Reemalaxmi Ekka, Manali Dakshini, Minnu Mani and Tanuja Kanwar

England: Heather Knight (Capt.), Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Georgia Elwiss, Alex Hartley, Amy Jones, Laura Marsh, Nat Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Sarah Taylor, Lauren Winfield and Danni Wyatt.
