A teenage girl has been violently stabbed in the face and neck with a kitchen knife, before a 37-year-old woman was charged with her attempted murder.
The 17-year-old, who knows her alleged attacker, was taken to hospital in a serious condition in Brisbane's bayside area on Sunday morning.
Officers arrived at the unit on Emsworth Street in Wynnum, in the city's eastern suburbs, shortly before 5am following reports of a disturbance.

The teenager was found on the road in front of a driveway, according to police.
Paramedics treated the girl who was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
The alleged attacker is due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court on Monday charged with attempted murder.
Police are believed to have seized a kitchen knife as part of their investigation.
