BHOPAL: Residents near Vallabh Nagar have started a signature campaign against the alleged hindrance in development works caused by political squabbling. Alleging that the local leaders of congress are demanding their name be included in the inaugural stone the residents have taken up the drive to ensure that there doesn’t lose out on the development works. As many as 6 wards of BJP fall under the south-west assembly area where the development work is being hit for the political fights.
The projects affected include the Mangal Bhawan near Hanuman temple at Bhim Nagar, the road work between Sabji Mandi, Kali temple to Hanuman temple, renovation at Shiv parwati temple and the development of hawkers corner at Vallabh Bhawan and a hawkers corner at Patrakaar Bhawan among others.
Some of these works are over 70 per cent complete. Reasident allege that due to alleged intervention of local MLA and minister PC Sharma these projects have been hit. Shankar Makoriya, member of mayor in council in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that these works are to be done through the quota of MIC or corporator or through the BMC’s funds.
He said that the residents have now come up against the dictatorial attitude of the Congress leaders and have launched a signature campaign against him. We will sign it and hand it over to the higher authorities through former minister and the then MLA Umashankar Gupta. Saroj Rakesh Jain, chairperson of zone says that the work at nullah and other work has stopped due to political interference by the ruling party MLA who ensures every work being done should be done at his behest.
