'200 faculty posts vacant in five colleges'

GUWAHATI: The Students' Federation of India (SFI), while referring to an RTI reply, said nearly 200 posts of faculty members are laying vacant across three state universities and two government-engineering colleges of Assam.
Secretary of the Assam state committee of the SFI, Nirangkush Nath, said that as per an RTI reply, "In a premier university of the state like the DU, 22 teaching posts are laying vacant. Out of this, five are posts of professors, 11 of associate professors and six of assistant professors. In Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, as many as 47 posts of teachers are laying vacant and 37 posts of faculty members are yet to be filled up in Bodoland University."
