Times News Network | Feb 16, 2019, 05:30 ISTMysuru: A second-year undergraduate student at Yuvaraja’s College was on Friday attacked by her classmate after she spurned his proposal for a romatic relationship.
The girl sustained an injury to her cheek, and is undergoing treatment at a city bhospital. Meanwhile, police have nabbed her classmate, Rohit, for attacking her and charged him with attempt to murder.
Sources said that Rohit had been annoying the girl in question for nearly two weeks, making overtures for a romatic relationship, but was constantly met with denial.
“Rohit reportedly proposed to her on Valentine’s Day, but the girl rejected him again,” police said.
On Friday, Rohit asked the girl to meet him at Maharaja’s College Grounds. Accompanied by a friend, she went there around 1.30pm. While they were talking, ROhit allegedly took a cutter from his pocket, and tried to slit her throat. But, the girl fought him off, and escaped with an injury to her cheek.
