CBSE schools seek uniformity in rules

more-in

The Kerala CBSE School Management Association has sought steps to bring in uniformity in Union and State government rules to resolve the problems faced by the CBSE schools.

A joint meeting of CBSE school principals and managers, under the aegis of the association, demanded that certificates issued by the State in connection with extension of recognition should not be delayed. The CBSE should also allow schools some time, it said.

The State government should be ready to implement the High Court’s verdict on setting up a coordination committee with representatives of Union and State governments, management and teachers for fixing fee, teachers’ salary, qualification, and so on, the meeting said.

The management association’s plea to the Centre for a solution to the problems faced by managers and principals had not yielded the desired results, it said.

The meeting demanded that the CBSE made amendments to the affiliation bylaws, parts of which were “hurting” the schools. Else, a number of CBSE schools in the State would be forced to close down, association president T.P.M. Ibrahim Khan said.

State Police Chief Loknath Behera inaugurated the meeting.
