The Department of School Education is planning to give away the appointment letters to the teachers selected through DSC-2018 on May 15 and conduct a special training session from them from June 1 to enable them to join their duties from June 12, the day the new academic year begins. Announcing this while releasing the results of DSC-2018 in Rajamahendravaram on Friday, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said the results were declared in a record time. Over 5.05 lakh aspirants turned up for the examination that had been conducted in two phases in December 2018 and January 2019.
‘Priority sector’
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the State government accorded top priority to the education sector, and there was no compromise on the allocation of budget to it.
“The State is in the third position at the national level with regard to the quality of education. Construction of new classrooms and provision of facilities in the government schools have improved the quality of education,” he observed.
Referring to the DSC-2018, the Minister said notification had been issued to fill 7,902 vacancies. Over 6.08 lakh aspirants had applied for it. After scrutiny, hall-tickets had been issued to 5.89 lakh candidates. Of them, 5.05 lakh aspirants turned up for the computer-based test conducted at 124 centres across the State, he said.
“The results have been declared in a record 110 days,” Mr. Rao said. Officials and local elected representatives were present.
