A 59-year-old Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) driver was allegedly murdered after being abducted on Wednesday, the police said on Saturday.

Reported missing

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Vijayanta Arya said the family of Pritam Singh, from Swaroop Nagar, had reported him missing on Thursday morning.

A senior officer said Singh had left Wazirpur depot after work for home in his vehicle on Wednesday.

Phone off

However, when he did not reach home till late night, his family tried his phone, which was found switched off.

‘Through GPS’

“His son Deepak said that through the GPS installed in the car, they found out that the vehicle first went to Sonipat border and then to Bakhtawarpur in Alipur. He went and informed Alipur police which asked him to inform Keshavpuram police where he lodged a missing complaint,” the officer said. Meanwhile, Deepak allegedly found Singh’s body with throat slit in Sonipat.

“The family informed the police after finding the body and the car,” said Ms. Arya.
