Pak mission gets extra security - by CRPF

NEW DELHI: With tempers running high after the Pulwama attack and hundreds of people protesting on the streets, the government on Friday deployed a platoon of the CRPF, which lost 40 of its men in the ghastly strike, to guard the Pakistani high commission in the Diplomatic Enclave in Chanakyapuri.

Sources said the decision to deploy paramilitary forces around the high commission was taken after some protesters tried to march towards it.

The protesters were demanding that Pakistan be given a befitting reply for Thursday's attack.

CRPF officials said the fact that troops from the paramilitary force, which is repeatedly attacked by Pakistan-backed terrorists in the Kashmir Valley, were securing that country's embassy showed the force's professionalism.

Apart from the CRPF, a few BSF jawans and Delhi Police patrol vehicles are also keeping vigil around the Pakistani high commission.
