Giant pudding sends across a message
tnn | Feb 16, 2019, 23:33 ISTThiruvananthapuram: A giant 1,620kg pudding, made from cookie and sandwich crumbs, proclaims that nothing goes waste. Prepared by UDS Hotel as a Valentine’s Day special on Thursday, the delicacy is on the threshold to enter Guinness Book of Records. The judging committee of Universal Records Forum has certified eligibility for the record.
It took fourteen hours for eleven chefs at the hotel to make the 20ft x 20ft pudding. In addition to the crumbs, 50kg chocolate and nuts, 6,000 eggs, 400 litre of milk and 100kg of icing have gone into its making. Resembling a small village with lush green garden, mountains, waterbody, parks, power station, stadium, cattle field and houses, the pudding is based on the them ‘Global Village’.
The chefs also pledged to support Zero Hunger and carefully plan food production to reduce wastage.
