Man shot at during engagement brawl in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A man was shot at during an engagement ceremony in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar on Friday evening. The incident was the fallout of an argument during the function. DCP (Rohini) SD Mishra said the victim was identified as Sandeep and a case of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act filed.
A preliminary probe revealed that Sandeep, a resident of Mangolpuri, had gone to attend the engagement of his friend where he reportedly got into an argument with the accused, Devender Kumar alias DK.
Sandeep told cops that during the function, Kumar came with a pistol and fired at him from a close range without any provocation. The bullet hit his thigh following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police were alerted about the case and after the surgery, recorded Sandeep’s statement. Cops raided Kumar’s house but found it locked and have launched a manhunt to nab him.
They are questioning the guests at the venue about the incident are scanning the CCTV footage to ascertain the exact sequence of events. A forensic team recovered the empty cartridge of the bullet from the crime scene.
