Members of the Chennai Civil Engineers Association plan to go on hunger strike if cement prices continue to soar.

In a press briefing held on Friday, the association’s president, T. Thayanithi, said cement prices had gone up by ₹100 in the last ten days. Members demanded that the State government fix the price for cement according to its quality and regulate it.
