India's first semi-high speed train, the
Vande Bharat Express, flagged off by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Friday broke down near
Tundla. The train was returning from Varanasi when the incident happened.
According to media reports, there's no electricity in 4 coaches and breaks were jammed due to engine failure.
The train was heading back to Delhi from Varanasi for its first commercial run tomorrow. There's uncertainty over its first commercial run because of the incident.
Train 18, which has been recently rechristened Vande Bharat Express, can run up to a maximum speed of 160 kmph. It already reached 130 kmph speed in its first journey. The train aims to provide a totally new travel experience to passengers.
