Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt said on Friday that whichever government comes to power after the 2019 parliamentary elections should construct the Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Addressing presspersons here, the seer said that though the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) desires that the temple’s construction is taken up immediately, advocates in the case have urged caution.

Even if an ordinance is passed on the issue, its validity will be limited to six months. “It will not be possible for the Union government to go against the Constitution and the Supreme Court, which is hearing the matter,” he said.

Hence, it was decided at the Dharma Sansad held recently at Prayagraj to take up the matter after four months. The seer said he has also spoken to the RSS head, Mohan Bhagwat, and others on the matter. Taking up the issue now could affect the Lok Sabha elections, he said.

“I want the elected government to take up construction of the Ram temple. Even AICC president Rahul Gandhi is in favour of Hindus,” he said.

The seer also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presented a good interim budget with benefits for farmers and others, and as had Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in the State. Both budgets will help people, he said.

He also said his 37th Sudha Mangala and Madhwa Tatvajnana Sammelan would be held in Hyderabad from February 22 to 24. E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, will inaugurate the Sammelan, the seer added.
