Taj Mahal to remain shut on Sunday for 3 hrs for Argentina President’s visit

AGRA: Taj Mahal will remain closed for the general public for almost three hours on Sunday for the visit of Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri and his wife and First Lady Juliana Awada.
A notice in this regard was issued by Superintending Archeologist for Agra Circle of ASI Vasant K Swarankar on Saturday. According to the notice, Taj Mahal will be closed for public viewing from 6:25 am to 9 am or till the visit is over.
Macri is on a three-day visit to India, which will commence from Agra. A day later, he will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have other official engagements. He will travel to Mumbai in February 19.
The state visit of Macri is taking place in the 70th year of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Marci’s visit to India follows Modi’s visit to Argentina in late 2018 for the G20 summit.
