A man has been charged after allegedly using his phone to film a woman in the changing room of a Sunshine Coast sport shop last month.

It will be alleged he filmed the woman at Rebel Sport in the Sunshine Coast Home shopping centre in Maroochydore between 12.30pm and 1pm on Monday, January 7.

Police, who originally told reporters the incident occurred in the nearby Sunshine Plaza shopping centre, said the victim confronted the man and he fled the store.

A 27-year-old Coes Creek man was on Saturday charged with one count of recording in breach of privacy and scheduled to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 20.
