‘150 votes per booth being removed in Chandragiri segment’

Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy complained that 14,000 votes were deleted from the voters’ list of his Assembly constituency.

The MLA met the Chief Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Diwedi at the Secretariat here on Friday and submitted the list of votes that have been deleted with “evidence”. Between 100 and 150 votes were being removed per booth, he alleged.

He alleged that some leaders were trying to add 13,000 bogus votes to the voters’ list. He told the CEO that no action was taken even after he complained to the authorities concerned.

Jai Ramesh joins YSRCP

The CEO assured him that action would be taken against those removing the votes, the MLA said.

Former TDP MP candidate and owner of Vijaya Electricals Dasari Jai Ramesh met YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad and joined the party. The Telugu Desam gave Mr. Jai Ramesh the ticket for Vijayawada Parliamentary Constituency twice to contest against former Union Minister Parvathaneni Upendra. Both times he was defeated by the Congress leader. Mr. Jai Ramesh is the brother of former TDP MLA Dasari Balavardhana Rao.
