The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday condemned the alleged “series of attacks” on activists of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) by ABVP activists.

In a statement the CPI(M) Delhi State Committee said it condemned “the series of attacks unleashed by the ABVP” this week.

‘ABVP goondaism’

“Today’s attack was against the SFI students who were returning after a march in protest against ABVP goondaism which happened the other day in front of the Vishwavidyalaya metro station,” the statement said.

The statement added that SFI activists were attacked on Friday when they were distributing pamphlets for the Chalo Delhi March on February 18.

“We demand that the Delhi police must take immediate action against these ABVP goondas who are vitiating the atmosphere of the Delhi University,” the statement said.
