Hyderabad: Force-wed teens handed over to family

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police on Friday traced the young couple who went missing after they were forced to ‘marry’ by a BSP worker and his associates on Valentine’s Day at a park in Medchal to their friend’s place near Siddipet. Police produced the youngsters before the court, which later handed them over to their respective families.


Cops tracked the couple to Mallaram village near Siddipet in the morning and brought them to Hyderabad. “We have produced the teenagers before the court. Based on what they told the court, the youngsters were sent back to their respective families,” Medchal inspector Gangadhar said. Meanwhile, the accused have been remanded in judicial custody.



When the youngsters were talking to each other at the park, BSP leader M Srihari Chary, mason K Anand, businessman K Avinash, driver P Ashok, labourer B Suresh Kumar and T Chandrasekhar approached them and asked the couple to tie the nuptial knot The whole episode went viral on social media.
