Woman dies of swine flu in Surat rural

Surat: A 49-year-old woman of Olpad taluka of Surat district died of swine flu on Friday. Except for this, no case of swine flu was reported from rural areas of Surat. Nine cases of swine flu have been detected in rural areas of Surat from January 1 to date. Meanwhile, two new cases of swine flu were detected in Surat city on Friday, taking the total number of infected people this season from January 1 to 58, which includes one death.
A 41-year-old woman from Athwalines and a 50-year-old woman from AK Road tested positive for swine flu in the city. One swine flu patient, whose condition improved, was discharged from the hospital. Around 23 swine flu patients are still admitted in various hospitals of whom one is on ventilator and six are receiving oxygen support, sources said.
