Man gets seven-year jail for attempt to murder

On April 16, 2016, Hisar city police station had registered a case under attempt to murder and Arms Act against two men, on the complaint of the victim, Vijay, a resident of Shanti Nagar of Hisar. One of the accused, Kamal alias Sonu, has been acquitted by the court.
In his statement, the victim had said that he was a witness in a 2014 attempted murder case. Due to this, he was being threatened by some people who told him not to record evidence.
On the night of April 16, 2016, when he was returning home from Jalebi Chowk of Hisar, Sumit alias Kali and another man fired at him near Shanti Shanti tank. The bullet hit his chest, he added.
