Ahmedabad: 10 Bajrang dal members detained for protesting against Valentines day

On Thursday, 10 Bajrang Dal members who were protesting against Valentine's day were detained by Police before they could even start chasing the couple who were sitting on the Riverfront area of the city.

The workers claim that the protest against valentines day done, as it against the Indian culture to celebrate and it is running the culture of children which should be stopped.

Learning for last years experiences, cops put in place strict security measures to avoid any untold incident this year. Last year several Bajrang dal activities had chased and attacked couple along the riverfront with the police as mute spectators.

This year from early in the morning, police deployment was done along the riverfront area, where around more than 40 police officials were put on watch. At around 10.30pm when the Bajrang Dal activists arrived at the Riverfront garden area, with banners and chanting slogans, 10 of them were detained from the spot by Sabarmati Riverfront West police, before they could do anything.

Apart from that, it was witnessed that, people were not allowed to enter the garden by the cops in the morning and they were told to leave the place for a time being.

M.A Sinh, Inspector of Sabarmati Riverfront West police station said, "We had already deployed our staff in the entire riverfront area. When the protestors arrived at the spot, all of them were detained and taken to the police station and everything went smooth."
