Steve Jurvetson said his world came crashing down in the fall of 2017, after allegations surfaced of misconduct at the venture-capital firm he co-founded. Now the prominent investor is attempting a comeback, raising a new fund and defending himself while admitting to mistakes.

Mr. Jurvetson said his new firm, Future Ventures, has raised $200 million for its first fund, which the 51-year-old will invest alongside business partner Maryanna Saenko, 30.
