Mazda Germany is probably the first branch of the Japanese manufacturer to launch an online configurator for the new 3, giving us the chance to play a bit with the few, to be honest, options.

The new Mazda3 is the fourth generation of the Japanese Golf rival, featuring a sharp design that was previewed by the Kai concept. Some people might be put off by the size of the third pillar in the hatchback, but overall, the 2019 Mazda3 is one of the cleanest designs in the market.

For now, the German configurator gives you the option to choose between two powertrains: the petrol 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G M Hybrid with 120hp (122PS) and CO2 emissions from 117g/km and the diesel 1.8-liter Skyactiv-D with 114hp (116PS) and CO2 emissions from 107g/km.

Both of these engines are offered with a six-speed manual transmission as standard and an automatic transmission being optional.

The range is also going to receive a base model with a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G petrol unit and of course the headline-stealing 2.0-liter Skyactiv-X petrol that claims to offer diesel-like efficiency in real-world driving conditions.

According to the German site, the Euro-spec Mazda3 will come with full LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and an 8.8-inch infotainment system as standard among other. Heated front seats and steering wheel, as well as a keyless entry system, leather upholstery and a high-end Bose audio system are part of the options list.

Mazda will also offer the Design Package option, which adds tinted rear windows, a set of gray 18-inch alloys, Matrix LED lights, and chrome detailing in the cabin, among other features.

Prices of the new Mazda3 in Germany start from 22,990 euros ($25,900 in current exchange rates) for the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G model and from 25,290 euros ($28,500) for the 1.8-liter Skyactiv-D model.
