MUMBAI: The terror attack in Pulwama on Thursday was condemned by all sections of society, including the political parties.

In Mumbai, people burned Pakistan’s national flag and terrorists effigies at various places.

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said the people, who have been given the responsibility to avoid such incidents, should be questioned. He was hinting at NSA Ajit Doval without taking his name.

“This attack is not only an attack but it is shows the incapability of the vigilance and intelligence departments,” Thackeray said.

“If the intelligence people are not getting such information, then there is the question of what they were doing,” he asked.

“Whoever is responsible for this lapse should be investigated. If we are neglecting these attacks and the intelligence alerts, then these people should be removed from their posts,” said Uddhav on Friday. The Sena President did not however name Doval.

“Keep the elections aside and first fix Pakistan,” he suggested. “Surgical strike was in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, now we have to enter Pakistan and teach them a lesson,” he said.

“The whole nation is with you, instead of making false talk, the government has to act to give a reply to Pakistan,” Thackeray added.

Meanwhile, Congress State President Ashok Chavan said that the opposition is with the government to teach Pakistan a lesson. “It is the biggest attack on the nation. Pakistan is providing shelter to the terrorists, so it  should be declared a terrorist nation,” he said.

Bhendi Bazaar was shut in protest of the Pulwama attack. Raza Academy staged a protest at Billal Masjid.

Shiv Sena activists from Kurla constituency also staged a protest and burned effigies of terrorists.
