A 26-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning at a private hospital in Noida, two days after he was assaulted by a neighbour in a drunken rage. However, the kin of the deceased alleged that the victim Mazroob Nawab was a police informer and that was the reason behind the murder.
On the evening of February 12, Mazroob was allegedly assaulted by a man named Salman at JJ colony in Sector 9. He was rushed to a local hospital and later to Safdarjung Hospital where he succumbed to injuries around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, the police said.
The accused Salman lives in shanties in Sector 9 where the deceased also lived with his brother Saddam. Both of them were daily wage labourers, said the police.
