RFOs meet from today
TNN | Feb 15, 2019, 06:17 ISTNAGPUR: The two-day maiden conference of range forest officers (RFOs) will be inaugurated by forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar at Chitnavis Centre on Friday. This was one of the 99-point agenda of forest minister. Minister of state for forest Raje Ambarishrao Atram and principal secretary (forests) Vikas Kharge will also be present.
Over 100 senior forest officials including 56 RFOs from territorial, wildlife and social forestry departments and FDCM will be part of the discussions. The two-day meet will conclude on Saturday.
The meet will discuss various schemes implemented by the forest department, especially various problems grappling the 33 crore plantations to be taken up in 2019 monsoon.
The meet will also discuss man-animal conflict, management of timber depots, forest fire management, service rules about RFOs, implementation of IT applications and host of other issues.
