Underground work for Metro kicks off

Pune: MahaMetro commenced the work of laying the underground ramp at Agriculture College in Shivajinagar on February 14. 

Guardian Minister Girish Bapat was present on the occasion. Deputy Mayor Siddharth Dhende and corporator from Shivajinagar-Ghole Road ward, Sonali Landge were also present.

“The project is divided into two reaches of underground metro, first is from Agriculture College ground and second is from Swargate. The work of laying the underground ramp has started at Agriculture College ground, simultaneously work at Swargate will also start. Phadke Haud is the central point,” said Bapat.

“There are around 250 families who will be affected due to this project at Kasba Chowk but they will be rehabilitated and after the project is completed, the families will be relocated to their original places. The rehabilitation will include tenants and owners,” Bapat added.
