The sports editor's article and discussion of Tom Brady, Michael Jordan and Julian Edelman (The Herald News, Mike Thomas, Feb. 7, “Comparing Brady to Jordan is foolish; putting Edelman in the HOF is worse”) was his opinion and spot on.
It is not practical to compare a football player to a basketball player. However, Brady is a great quarterback, but so were Joe Montana and others. Montana is 4-0 on Super Bowls with no interceptions and the highest quarterback Super Bowl rating of all time. Jordan’s record is impeccable as outlined.
Regarding Edelman, how about Wes Welker? Welker has 903 catches, 50 touchdowns and 9,924 yards. Edelman has 499 catches, 30 touchdowns and 5,390 yards.
Let’s agree all these players are great ones, and who is better, etc., is an area of debate and one of the reasons we love sports.
